.... business contact manager data? I've got a small network, no Exchange
server, and want to ensure that I can work work with contacts and e-mail one
any of two machines, with the ability to synchronize both local Outlook data
files and business contact manager files.

You'd have to use manual backup and restore for the BCM data.

Sue,

I appreciate your info. It is of only limited value, however, for two reasons:

I wrote my question weeks ago - no offense.
Doing as you suggest does get BCM data across - I tried that some time ago.
Trouble is that there is a problem with the mapping somehow. After backing up
and restoring on the second machine, a number of fields, especially
addresses, ZIPs and titles keep getting omitted or concatenated. At least
that's what the BCM forms (contact, account) display. I am somewhat
frustrated about this as I am looking for a good replacement for GoldMine;
one that easily integrates with Word, Excel, etc.

Hmm. I haven't heard of any issues with backup and restore on BCM data. Have
you done any form customization for BCM?

If you want to pursue the BCM option, you might want to describe the problem
in more detail in the separate newsgroup for BCM issues --
