HP Printer Printing on Every Other Sheet from Word 03

Using Word 03 on XP SP2 Box.

I posted this on the Win XP Printer group and am getting no response and I
think there is a lot more savvy help here any way. I'm wasting a lot of
paper and time with this problem.

My problem is that on an HP Laser Jet 1200 PCL model number C-7044A Printer
which generally works like a little champ since the day I got it it is
printing every other page and leaving every other page blank *from Word 03".
I had this problem once before and forgot how I solved it. I remember last
time going all over the different print dialogue box from Word and *I think*
not finding any setting amiss there.

(One of the Printer Experts/Hardware MVPs once told me adamantly that there
was no separate different *Hardware Update Wizard* at "devmgmt.msc" in the
run box or Device Manager and at Views>Show Hidden Devices and there is and
sometimes it's the only way to get a printer driver added for me despite all
the other locations at printer properties for example. The add hardware
wizard screenshots different and it is.

(After showing hidden devices I was able to hit properties of the HP LJ
printer and install a driver with the *hardware update wizard* from that
right click context that worked using the what I
guess was a native Windows driver. This had not worked if I either right
clicked the printer in the printer folder and hit the *update my printer
driver wizard.* Normally I would advise someone not to add a driver from
Windows because the driver's aren't as high quality as hardware sites and
they corrupt easier--also Dev Mgr is notorious for telling people key
drivers like video and audio are just fine when they aren't. It doesn't
assess driver health competently.)

Thanks very much,

Chad Harris

Are you sure that you haven't been putting a manual Page Break at the end of
every page but have accidentally been inserting a Section Break by mistake?
If in File, Page Setup the Section Start AT is set to Next Odd Page, then
everytime you insert the Section Break, it will skip the even page and start
on the next odd page. Although you won't see the even pages in Print Layout
View, they should show un in Print Preview and the printer will 'eject' a
blank page for every even page.

Alternatively, in the Printer Setup, you have changed the advanced settings
to eject a blank page between every print out.
