HP Scanjet 7400c scanning to email on a Toshiba Laptop

[Laboratory]

HP SCanjet 7400c scans to email, but no email message is produced in
Microsoft Outlook, despite HP settings being correct (MS Outlook selected as
email destination). Messages on screen are as follows :
1. Scanning document to email message
2. The Scan is performed
3. Scan another Page ? - click "Done"
4. Nothing happens after that.

Any suggestions on how to fix.
