Am unable to get CTRL Home and CTRL End to take me to the start and end of a
document. Am using my new hp2133 with Windows Vista Business and Office 2007
Home and Student. Anyone help?

Hi Beth. Thanks for responding. At present CTRL End takes the cursor to the
beginning and then the end of the next word in the document; and CTRL Home
does the reverse.

It sounds like the End and Home keys are recognized. Are the End and Home
key one the same keys as your arrow keys? Ctrl + Right Arrow advances you to
the beginning of the next word and Ctrl + Left Arrow advances you to the
beginning of the previous word. If the Home and End key are on the same keys
as your arrow keys then do you have a FN key or something similar that you
need to press to activate the Home and End keys?

Yes, Home is on the left arrow, end is on the right arrow, page up is with
the up arrow, and page down is with the down arrow. And there is a Function
(fn) button between the left CTRL and Windows Logo buttons. Page Up and
Page Down
only work when combined with the fn button, but fn Home and fn End only take
me to the beginning or end of current line. Nothing takes me to
End/Beginning of document.

That's it. Thank you Beth. And the answer is, once again, so simple. But
the requirement to press three keys for a shortcut seemed totally illogical
to me, so I did not even consider it! But, it does work, and my problem is
solved. Happy Xmas. Regards from Bob

You're welcome. :)

What's illogical is to for them to make you use the FN key in order to
access the Ctrl key considering it's a frequently used in numerous keyboard
shortcuts. But then I guess they had to stick it somewhere when they only
have around 9 inches to work with. ;-)
