htm versus html

I have created my site on my computer and the homepage is
labeled index.htm and once I post the site, it appears as
index.html on the server. This is causing problems with
my navigation. Whenever I click home, it attempts to go
to index.htm and I received "The page cannot be found"
error." How can I fix this?

Your host requires index.html as the home page
In you local site rename index.htm to index.html (ignore warning), and Republish your site
