Why does FP 2003 want to generate a new index page for me - one named
index.html - even though I have a perfectly good, working, index page - which
is named index.htm?

In fact, all the pages generated with FP 2000 were named something.htm!
What is FP 2003's objection to this old naming scheme?

Your home page must have the same file name as your host requires
- apparently your host requires a home page file name of index.html
(rename your home page to index.html and republish)

Thank you. The knowledge that the host controls the requirements is very
useful.
