HTML Mail Merge

I used to be able to do mail merge in Word either using Excel or Outlook for
the data source. Recently I'm having problems, if I select sends by HTML the
program looks as though it completes but it really doesn't. If I choose
anything other than HTML (Rich or Plain Text) then I get a message that asks
me to wait 5 secxonds to confirm it's ok for a program to access details in
Outlook.......... this for every record, which sending 1500 emails is
toooooooooooooo much to bear!!!!

What has gone wrong recently with MS, or does anyone have any answers????

Hoping for some light at the end of a very very long tunnel

I am having a similar problem with Office 2003 Small Business Edition. About
a month ago I used MS Word to Mail Merge peoples First Name in the greeting
in the letter and I use a small jpg banner at the top of the email. The body
of the email contained a link to a website. When prompted for the Subject and
what type of email to send I input the subject, HTML was the default so I
left it that way. It all worked fine using HTML email with a banner and a
Mail Merge field from and Excel 2003 Datasource. Now it does not work. There
is no error message but the email does not occur. Nothing is sent the
Outlook's outbox and nothing in Outlooks sent items. What is wrong. Don't say
you can not Mail Merge with HTML documents because I have done it.

I have the same problem. Here's what I posted earlier.
---------
I have Office Professional Edition 2003 on both my Outlook and Word.

When I try to mail merge (letters and e-mail messages) in HTML format, it
DOES NOT work. Mail merge using an attachment and plain text DO work. When I
try HTML format, I don't even get an Error message, so I have no idea what
I'm doing wrong.

Is someone able to help me figure out why I can't use HTML when I mail merge
to Outlook?

Hi Mike & Laedybugs

I don't know what happens to cause the problem but I did a successful HTML
mailmerge from an Excel spreadsheet as the data source on Thursday 31 March.
I need to do another one later tonight so will let you know how it goes.

Best regards

Allan
