HTML mail Rxd

Hope this is not too trivial a question for the group.

I often send a BCC copy of important emails to myself, just to make sure
that they
go out ok. If I use the same email addr for receiving as sending the mail,
when it
arrives back it is converted to plain text. If I use another add then
everything is
ok. Apart from my own work around is there a fix, or is this the way Outlook
works. When using OE I never had the problem.

TIA. and thanks to all for their help in the past.

If your sending/receiving address is in your Contacts folder, double-click
it and see if it is set for Outlook to always send to that address in plain
text.

Jocelyn,

I am using Office 2003 in stand alone mode, no network.
The only option I can see for sending in plain text is that in the Security/
Digital Certs tab and I don't use these at present. I checked in OE and the
box in address book is unchecked.

Thanks

I think you misunderstood my reply :) You don't need to be on a network
to do this. Go to your Contacts folder in Outlook. Do you have a Contact
entry for the e-mail address you were using to send the message with the
problem? If so, open that contact entry, then double-click the e-mail
address. A dialog box should pop up and one of the fields on that box
should be a dropdown that allows you to tell Outlook whether it should use a
particular format when sending to that e-mail address (such as Plain Text or
Rich Text), or whether Outlook should be allowed to choose the "best"
sending format. Make sure the value in this dropdown is not set to Plain
Text for that particular e-mail address.
