Htmlmarg.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry

My Microsoft Office 97 has suddenly stopped opening HTML lines in documents.
I get the following error: "Unable to open http:www. WEB link name . No
program is registered to open this file." I tried repairing my Microsoft
Office; and even uninstalling and then reinstalling it--but when installing I
get the following error:
"Htmlmarg.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry." I even
tried with my virus scan and spyware remover turned off. No difference. I
wonder if the registry is corrupted on my computer and it will not let me
re-register that. Please advise (P.S. I am not a "newby", but am no pro
either. Please don't make the answer too complicated) If this isn't
fixable, I guess I will have to download Linux's Open Office.

Hi D.,

If you're using Windows XP and have installed Service Pack 2
then that feature has been disabled by Microsoft as a security risk.
