Hyper link - internal vs. external

Hi
When in "preview" is it normal for an external hyperlink
to go to the website, and load it, but when doing the
same thing with an internal hyperlink it doesn't do
anything. The page remains the same.

When I "preview in browser" the internal hyperlink goes
where it should, as does the external hyperlink.
