hyperlink and email problem

Hi Group,

I use the following code (provided previously by this Group) which
allows me to navigate a worksheet using an index style system. It
works well within my Excel workbook.

=HYPERLINK("#'Email'!"&ADDRESS(MATCH(C6,Email!$C$40:$C$7640,0)+39,3),"View
Parts")

I now have a need to email this worksheet on a weekly basis to some
colleagues (due to file size I cannot send full spreadsheet) but the
the hyperlinks don't work correctly when viewed in Outlook. The
following error message appears in the bottom left hand corner when I
hover a link and nothing happens "mhtml:mid://00000000/#'Email'!$A$204"
..

Is there a way around this or is this just a drawback with the
Hyperlink function.

grateful for advice/thoughts

Tony

Hi Tony,

I am not an expert and I might be wrong, but I think Excel cannot handle
this because the target of your hyperlink is the result of a formula, hence
dynamic.

I tried to recreate your example. Although I didn't recieve any error
messages, the link didn't work in Outlook. As I took a look at the XML-code I
couldn't find any <A>-tag the link could have pointed at.

I hope this helps,
Herbert

Thanks for your reply Herbert.
Hadn't thought of checking the xml-code but that explains everything.
No link tags means it can't 'jump'. Ah well, it's only a minor
drawback and thanks for your research.

Regards
Tony
