Hyperlink colour problem

Hi

I have been unable to get text hyperlinks to act the way I'd like them to.
Someone advised me I had 2 features on them and to unformat and start again.
But I still can't get what I want. I don't think I'm expecting too much!

On my homepage which I have re-uploaded I have created some example
hyperlinks to show what is happening.

my homepage

The links are :

' Travel Page ' is totally unformatted and when hovered over changes to
almost what I want.

' House ' I haved changed the font, font size and weight, alignment and
removed the underline and when hovered over changes to exactly what I want.

' link to webcam ' I have changed everything (same as 'House') and also
changed the colour to black. When hovered over nothing happens.

I just want Bold-Black-Tahoma-8pt to change to Bold-Tahoma-Olive-8pt

On your home page you have the following:

<a href="travel.htm">
Travel Page</a>

<a href="house.htm">
<span style="text-decoration: none; font-weight: 700">
<font size="1" face="Tahoma">House</font></span></a>

If the House link is behaving the way you want it to, you need to change the
Travel link to match it.

Hi.

The House link CHANGES TO what I want, that is, staying the same font,
weight and size but changing colour to 'olive'. But the word house is that
standard purple colour which I don't want.

When I change the purple text to black text (which is the colour I want) as
I did on the 'link to webcam' hyperlink then it won't change from black to
olive.

I unformatted all the links, then in properties - advance - enable hyperlink
rollover effects - I have selected the same font, same weight and same size
and the colour I want ('olive' I call it) and have not selected any of the
effects.

Back on the page I can format the text, alignment - font - size - weight,
which I did as an example with the link 'House' and the link changes to
'olive'.
But when I do all this AND change the text colour as I did for 'link to
webcam' then it won't change to 'olive'.

I'll be glad to know what I am doing wrong as it is always me (!) but I
don't think it is unreasonable to want a black link to change to another
colour.
