hyperlink dialogue box does not launch

When I try to insert a hyperlink from the menu nothing
happens. The hyperlink dialogue box does not show. I have
this problem in Word (XP) as well. In excell the box
comes up but I can not select a link because the ok
button is greyed out. Uninstalling and Reinstalling XP
office did not work. It works fine for most people so
something must be interfering with hyperlink functions in
XP
Any suggestions?

insertion point??

If you've clicked in the page and the page was in edit mode and you still
don't get the hyperlink panel,
I would click Help on the toolbar and select "Detect and Repair."

Tried that as well and it did not do the trick. Would it
be possible that other programs such as VB interfere?

When you did the reinstall did you do a custom install and make sure all components are installed to run from disc?
