How can I create a hyperlink from OneNote 2007 to a specific location in a
Word 2007 document?

Hello Wave~Trader,

There is a way to do it but it will show a hyperlink at the paragraph location
in the word document. I'm sure there is a way around this but I haven;t been
succesful with it yet. There is an option under options/advanced to turn
bookmarks on or off but on my system it doesn't seem to change anything.
However, I am using a 2010 beta of Word so it might work in 2007. There may
be a couple macros floating around that may allow you to hide the bookmarks
but I'm not sure. If you can live with that then here is how I've done it:

First go to the location that you want to link to and create a bookmark,
ie, Link_1 (bookmark name cannot contain spaces).

Next, click on hyperlink or insert hyperlink from the toolbar or right-click
menu and from the hyperlink dialog select "Place in Documet" under "link
to" and then click Link_1 under "select a place in this document". This will
place a hyperlink name Link_1 at the desired location in the word document.

Right-click the newly inserted hyperlink and select "copy hyperlink"

Go to the place in Onenote that you want the link to appear and select paste.
This will copy the word Link_1 into OneNote.

Thereafter, if you click Link_1 in OneNote it will go to the desired locatiln
in the Word document.

Word needs to be running (clicking on Link_1 in OneNote doesn't launch Word
on my system but will open the document and go to the desired location if
it is not already opne.

I do not have Word 2007 on my system right now but this procedure works on
Word 2010 but should work on 2007.

Hope this helps,
Michael

Create the hyperlink in OneNote, right click it, select Copy Hyperlink and
then paste into the Word document.

Hello Wave~Trader,

Sorry! I misread your post. David Olson's reply does what you wanted to do.
What I shared in my original response allows you to link in the opposite
direction, ie., from OneNote to a particular word, paragraph, page etc. in
a Word document.

Also, if you try my original post, what I need to find out is how to hide
and show hyperlinks, not Bookmarks as I misstated.
