Hyperlink greyed out in some email replies Outlook 2007

Hi

Hope someone can help, the hyperlink option is greyed out when I try to
insert but only when replying to some emails, coincidently the formatting
(smilies etc) don't work in the same emails either

If you check the Options ribbon, you'll likely find that that message is
Plain Text formatted.
