Hyperlink in custom task pane

I have a custom task pane. I want to include a link to a custom help file in
the task pane. I created the help file and inserted the link in the taskpane,
and included it in my resources.

When I click the link to navigate to the help file it shuts down Infopath.
it doesn't matter if I'm in preview or if I launch the published form from my
sharepoint library.

Is there a way to switch task panes from within the taskpane? The navigate
method isn't working for me.
