My preferred way of having files available for download from my website:

On the server have a folder, i.e., named downloads

Upload file.pdf into the downloads folder.

On the website have a link, i.e.,

Get file here.

Gather with the mouse the word (or it can be an image) here

Select Insert, Hyperlink

type http://www.mywebsite.domain.com/downloads/file.pdf
OK

Upload the new website files.

That should do it.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the advice but this is what I am doing. Any chance you have
another idea as to why when I am doing this it is not working?

Thanks
Heather

Heather,

Things to check:

Do you upload the file to the downloads folder?

Are all entries in path link lowercase?

No spaces in the path link.

Periods, no commas.

Your link should read something like this

http://www.domain.com/downloads/file.pdf

domain is your address
file is the actual file name.
