hyperlinking 2 PPT files

During a standard Landscape ppt slide show, I want to bring in some jpgs that
I have saved in Portrait mode in another ppt. I've put a hyperlink to the
slide in each presentation (they are in the same folder), but when I run the
slide show and get to the linked page, nothing happens. What am I missing?

I'm not sure that I'm understanding. When you create a link using Action
Settings, you first select some text or an object on your slide and then go to
Slide Show > Action Setting and set up a link to "some place or some file".
Then when you run your presentation in show mode, you can click on the text or
object and you will be routed to the linked location or file. (Links only work
in Slide Show mode.)

Is this what you want to happen?

Yes, that's what I want to happen. However, beyond the fact that the linked
file/slide is placed in the Action Settings, nothing changes. There is no
link shown in the slide, and the linked slide(s) is not activated.

When you go to Slide Show > Action Setting and click on Hyperlink To, you need
to locate the item in the list that says either "Other Presentation" or "Slide"
or "Other File" and locate and point to the one you want. Did you do that?

I guess I need you to walk us thru, step by step, what you are doing so that we
can spot where you are going wrong.

Yes, I did that.

Here's what I did, step by step:

1. Selected text (on another trial I just selected the placeholder) to which
I wanted to create the link.
2. Right click, selected Action Settings
3. Selected Hyperlink to Other Powerpoint Presentations
4. Navigated to the other Powerpoint file (in the same folder), selected the
slide to hyperlink and clicked okay.
5. Followed the identical procedure in the second file.
Ran the slide show. Nada, zip, zilch. I must have missed a step?
5.

Okay, that's really weird--as I did it to post the steps to you, now it
worked as it was supposed to.
