Hyperlinking automatic??

today I realized that any email address in my documents were auto hyperlinked.
this is annoying. this did not happen before. I have not done an update... that I am aware of.

How to remove auto hyperlinking in word and excel?
I am using word 2016 standalone app on my MAC

This is - and always has been - the default behaviour. You can disable by unchecking:
• File|Options|Proofing>AutoCorrect Options>AutoFormat As You Type>Internet and network paths with hyperlinks; and
• File|Options|Proofing>AutoCorrect Options>AutoFormat>Internet and network paths with hyperlinks.
