I have read the support file 278627 which attempts to
resolve this problem (the hyperlink opens the template
rather than starting a new document based on the
template) by advising you to create a shortcut to the
template, and then hyperlink to the shortcut (but type
the address in the hyperlink dialogue box).
I have done all this, but when I then click on the link I
get a warning message advising that the source could
contain a virus, fair enough, click OK and instead of a
new document opening from the template, word then hangs
up on trying to open the new document. All currently open
documents can be closed (with saving changes), but then
when all Word windows are closed the Task Manager shows
Word as using 99% of the system resourses and never opens
the new document based on the template?!?!?!?!?
Please help (I'd like to get to a documented ISO system
that's mostly IT based one of these days, going to be
hard with consistent problems like these)?
