Hyperlinks- Absolute and Relative

man-d

I want to use an action button to hyperlink to another ppt presentation
which will be in the same directory. How can I create a hyperlink without
all the C:\mycomputer\Documents...... path rubbish, so that the sytem will
work in any directory or from a CD in any drive etc.

I just need a way to be able to type in the file name for the link instead
of selecting from the list, as this always seems to include include the path
information.

Thanks in advance

Place everything in the same folder BEFORE creating links. Then, use Slide Show
Action Settings > Hyperlink to > Other presentation. Don't use Insert >
Hyperlink. Finally, if you've followed these guidelines, don't worry about what
is displayed when you look at the link under Slide Show > Action Settings >
Hyperlink to. That will be the fully resolved address of the moment. You can
move the folder contents to a CD or another hard drive and as long as you keep
everything together, the links will work and won't break because they will be
"relative" to the location of the main presentation.
