Hyperlinks & ctrl+click on protected .doc

I have a Word 2003 document. It is a MS Word table with hyperlinks i
some of the cells. When I protect the document (forms toolbar.padlock
the hyperlinks will no longer open. Why? and how do I change this.

I don't want anyone to be able to alter the text of the table but ther
are
columns in this document (form) that they need to fill out. Th
hyperlinks
are instructings for these items.

HELP!!!!!!

Thanks the document you lead me to does help.

I should be able to get this form fixed and more user friendly now....
