hyperlinks don't change color after being selected

My hyperlinks used to change color after being selected in Ppt 2000. I am
now using Ppt 2003, and they don't automatically change color after being
selected. How do I get this to happen? My research said their was a "hot
fix" that might help since my original Ppt's are from an earlier version than
2003.

I don't know about any hot fix, but if you have something in mind, post the
URL and we can maybe tell you if it will help or not.

However, followed hyperlinks get their color from the slide color scheme.
You can read about it here:

hyperlink colors starts at step 6.

I think the "hot fix" is the general advice to go to the Help Menu and
choose Check for Updates and follow the instructions to install Service
Pack 2. However, I have never heard of this particular problem, so I
doubt it is fixed by the Service Pack. Echo's advice about the color
scheme is probably what you need.

Ah, yeah. Now *that* would be a good thing to do in any case!

Hey Dr. Scott,

Hyperlink color usually does not change until the screen (slide image) is
updated. This means if a hyperlink opens a webpage (and therefore does not
redraw the slide) usually will not update the hyperlink color on the
presentation (even after the web page is closed and the presentation
underneath is revealed).

Try advancing the slide one, and then returning to it. Did the color change
when the slide was re-visited?

If it did not (change colors after following the link and redrawing the
slide) than I suspect that the hyperlink and followed hyperlink colors in
the color scheme are the same.

If the color did change, then we need to find a way to update your screen
after links are followed.
