hyperlinks in email

Hello. If I want to drag-and-drop a file to my e-mail
from Windows Explorer to create a hyperlink to that file,
I have to go to Tools > Options > Mail Format and check
the box "Use Microsoft Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages."

I'm not fan of the Word format. But I'd like the ability
to easily create hyperlinks. Doing a drag-and-drop in the
default format creates an attachment, not a hyperlink.

Any suggestions?
