Hyperlinks in excel

Daryl

How do I stop excel from automatically inserting a
hyperlink when I insert an email address in a cell?

Hi Daryl!

In Excel 2002 and 2003 you can turn this off:

Tools > AutoCorrect Options
"AutoFormat as you type" Tab
Remove check from "Internet and Network paths with hyperlinks"
OK

For earlier versions see various options at:

Hi JE!

I would have referred to your page in my reply but I got hit problems
when I tested the link earlier. Seems OK now.

I've rearranged a few pages, but I've left autoforwarding links to
the new locations. Please let me know if a link's not working.
Thanks!

Hi JE!

It was a mysterious response, which was whjy I mentioned it.

The link seems to keep attempting to open the page; I was getting the
"click" associated with a page opening. It happened several times over
a 5 minute period. Maybe you were working on it at the time. Later
when I went back to it there was no problem. Other links to other
websites were working normally.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on it. I'm assuming you were using IE6?

Hi JE!

No! I use NetCaptor. It allows me Captor Groups of tabbed browsers.
