Hyperlinks in word and copying on to CD's

I have produced a presentation in word 2000 with hyperlinks to quite a few
jpeg images. I want to put this presentation on cd and wondered if there was
anyway to keep the hyperlinks working after ive done that so the hyperlinks
work on other systems when the cds inserted?

G'day "Dustpig" <[email protected]>,

There are several ways. If you are using relative links, it is very
easy, just copy the root dir to the cd and away you go. If you are
using absolute fields, use Alt+F9 to show field codes, and search and
replace your old absolute root with the proposed cd one. Copy onto the
cd and you are done.

macropod

Hi Steve,

One point to watch with changing absolute link paths of all types in Word is
that they include the drive letter. If the CD has a different drive letter
assignment on the PC on which it's read, the links still won't work.

You could, of course include an auto_open macro in the Word file that checks
what drive&path it was opened from and change the drive&path in the various
link fields on the fly.

Cheers
