Hyperlinks not active in Outlook 2000

I recently bought a new machine running Win XP Home Edition. I loaded
Office 2000 onto it which I have had for some time and which worked
perfectly well before.

Now, when I receive emails with hyperlinks, nothing happens when I
click on them. Does anyone know how to fix this?
