Office2003 - various SPs and without any
Symptom: hyperlink created to specific documents (jpg, gif, bmp that I've
tried) opens in IE (and bmp in Paint). When opening through Windows Explorer
they all open in the assigned application - Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
(Have checked under Folder Options to make sure there is no monkey business
with the assigned application.)
This is happening on some computers and not on others, but I cannot
immediately find the difference between them, except that they were installed
from a different MST, and one (working properly) with no MST.
When trying to open the hyperlink in Excel or PowerPoint a message comes up
saying "Opening "[name of doc]". Hyperlinks can be harmful to your computer
and data. To protect your computer, click only those hyperlinks from trusted
sources. Do you want to continue?" This message does not come up on the
computers that open with the assigned application.
I haven't a clue where to look to fix this problem. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
