Hyperlinks when mail merging

I have hyperlinks in an Outlook message that I want to
send using "Mail Merge" -- when I complete the merge, the
recipients to do get the hyperlinks (the text is there,
but no click through ability) ... what am I doing wrong?

Are these links different in each message or always the same? Outlook
version?
