Hyperlinks

Excel 2004 for Mac. I have an Excel file and want to insert hyperlinks
to other files so that clicking on that link opens the linked file. I
am inserting the hyperlinks by CMD K, select document, select the
file. If the linked file is in the same folder as the .xls the links
work. But where the linked file is in a different folder it returns an
error message. Any help much appreciated. Many thanks.

Just to confirm I have checked and made sure that I have the latest
updates of Excel installed. I've tried the same process for inserting
hyperlinks on a Windows version of excel (Excel 2003) and it works
correctly.

Any help would be much appreciated.
