Hyperlinks

Dear all

i have import data from cvs file type.
there is a column that includes hyperlinks but they do
not work . They have the blue color and the address
but when you click on the cell they do not work.


Can anyone help me to make it work?

What do you see,
- as text display in the cell
- on the formula bar
- right click, edit hyperlink
which will also be answering the question of
where do you see the address

There is anyway to change it to Hyperlink?

Hi Manos,
Having a hyperlink does not change the format.
I was just trying to find out what you actually had
and how you came about displaying what you have
from a csv file, so you only provided part of what I asked.

Is this perhaps Excel 2002 or Excel 2003 where you
can turn off automatic generation of hyperlinks.

You can generate hyperlinks with a macro

or actually I prefer to use the HYPERLINK formula (link below macro)

Perhaps you have a space at beginning or end interfering

Those with Excel XL (Excel 2002) or higher can suppress
hyperlink generation under the Auto Correct from the Tools menu.
Tools (menu), Autocorrect Options, Autoformat as you type (Tab).
Check that option to see if that is what you did.

Please report back, because getting the coloration style of
a hyperlink from a CSV file without hyperlinks is not normal.
I think I've provided sufficient information to generate your
missing hyperlinks, but it would be nice to know what really
happened. I'm sure you did something besides opening
a CSV file.

Some people think they can remove hyperlinks with the
format painter -- not true -- just changes to text formatting.
Likewise the same would be true in the opposite direction.
