Hyphenation

I don't like it, and I don't want to install it. But Publisher won't leave
me alone about it now. How do I get it to stop telling my about installing
hyphenation?

Have you tried a detect and repair found under help? Have you turned off
hyphenation in Options?

It's not in options. It's in Language. (Although, I think it should be in
Options). I fail to see what hyphenation has to do with whether your typing
in Spanish or English.

Oops I found it. I unchecked hyphenation for new text frames. If it's not
installed, why is it an option? Probably to get you to install it, huh?

Thanks, Mary.

Options is for application-specific (and sometimes, annoyingly,
document-specific) options. Text-frame specific options definitely have
no place in Options (although being able to globally turn off
hyphenation rather than on an individual text box or for "new" text
boxes might belong there, and IMO should be there).

Publisher doesn't just place hyphens anywhere. Most Office proofing
tools come with a hyphenation dictionary, which tells Office programs
where and in which words to hyphenate. Hence hyphenation does differ
depending on whether you're typing in Spanish or English.
