I always receive two exact emails from same person

Whenever my son sends me an email I get two exact ones. Is there something
wrong at my end or his?

Bob,

I started to have the same problem in Outlook 2003 a couple of weeks ago:
duplicates of every message from one sender (a client of mine.) After
checking the archive of messages in this group on Google Groups, I tried one
suggested fix, and it seems to have worked.

Look at the Tools/Rule and Alerts, and see if there is a more than one Rule
that may be acting on the messages from your son. In my case, I found two
rules that sorted mail from my Inbox to a subfolder I had created for
messages from a client. One rule had the client listed by name, the other
rule said to sort all mail from company's domain, in order that mail from
anyone at his company would be sorted into the Client subfolder. So when a
single e-mail from the client arrived at my Inbox, it was processed twice,
and two copies appeared in the Client subfolder.

See if you have duplicate references to your son in your rules, and delete
one of the references. Then check Stop Processing More Rules.

So far, this has worked for me. However, I have no idea why the duplicates
suddenly started, after Outlook had been processing mail from my client
normally for months.

Other changes have occured in Outlook 2003, and although I have been able to
work around them, I still have no idea why they occur. I'm afraid that it
may have something to do with the updates and patches that have been coming
fast and furious lately.

No I do not. Just from my son.
