I am the only one who cannot display records in a shared database.

Geoff in our office set up a contacts database using Access 2000. One
window shows one line per contact record, and another window (the data entry
window) shows a formatted presentation of all fields in an individual contact
record. Geoff and Mark (another sales rep) can use it without any problem.
Highlighting a row in the main window displays the detailed fieds of that
contact in the second window. When I try to use the same database, it
displays the two windows with teh datailed record for Company "A" in the
"details" window. When I select another contact in the "list" window, the
correct deatiled record is presented, but that only happens once. After
that, I cannot display the details of any other contact. My first choice
always shows. I can enter a new record, but I can never display it again.
I just reinstalled Windows 2000 and Office 2000, with all updates, but
the problem persists. Geoff built the database using Relase 9.XXX of Access.
(He is not in teh office this week to give me the details.) I have 9.0.6926
SP-3, and Mark has Relase 11 with Windows XP.

This is a wild guess but I had a similar problem with a report that only
affected 1 user which turned out to be the syetem clock on that PC was wrong
- any chance that could be happening here? If not can't help!!

The clock on my PC is OK. It is the same as the one on Geoff's PC. When I
sign onto the network with my identity on his PC the database works.

Have you checked the system date as well?

The day, date and time (as dispalyed in th elower right corner of teh screen)
are the same - and correct - for both PCs.

Sorry, can't think of anything else but logically if the database works OK on
other machines and throughyour identuty on other machines must be a setting
somewhere along the line on yours. Good luck and sorry can't help
