It's much easier to use the Entourage newsreader to view this newsgroup. The
Mactopia web interface is just one way to access. If you can do an email,
then you can use the Entourage newsreader.

Another benefit is messages downloaded are searchable by Entourage's
Spotlight search. By clicking on the "more" button you can get older
messages to search for help.

I have Entourage 2008 and Mac OS Leopard and this POS has lost all my emails and contacts twice in the 2 weeks I have owned it. No errors, no nothing, just when I open it it acts as if I have just started for the first time (I have to re-enter the mailbox info and everything). I need these emails for my job, where did they go? HELP!

It is as if i have booted up Entourage for the first time. everything is gone. this is crazy. since i am new to Mac OS, i don;t know where those files would be stored so i dont know how to find them.

I see your frustration. First, you will need to locate the Office 2008 Identity folder. To do this, please try the following:
1. Click on your Finder.
2. Go to your Documents folder.
3. Locate the Microsoft User Data folder.
4. In there, you will find 14 folders or more. Locate the "Office 2008 Identities" and double click in it.
5. In that folder, depending on how many accounts you had setup in Entourage, you should see them there. If you don't then they somehow were deleted from your computer. You may want to call Apple for more info and explain your situation to them or call Microsoft.

You can't see accounts unless you set up separate Identities for each
account.

If you have not used the new identity, delete it. If you have used it and
want to combine the new mail with your original database, drag each folder
to the desktop from one identity. This creates an MBOX file. Switch
identities. Drag the MBOX files into the folder window of Entourage.

You can delete the old folder after you are satisfied with the transfer.

I found this most helpful in locating my old identity - many thanks !!- but still cannot get what I need to do to combine the two identities. What is an MBOX file? Could you explain in more detail, please - sorry to be so dim!

The MBOX file is a specially-constructed text file, usable by any text
editor, which contains mail messages within the file. The glossary page has
terms used with Entourage and the Mac OS.

This page describes how to move from one Identity to another.

I have two movies that help with moving data between Identities:

QuickTime Pro - Export for Web - mbox

Using Entourage Archive Files
