Ok, this may sound a little crazy... but I have written some reports in my
Access application and I now need to group some reports BUT I can´t find and
therefore use the Grouping and Sorting feature... anywhere!?! It doesn´t show
up as an icon, nor is it available in the View menu. I´ve tried creating new
tables, new reports, linked tables for the reports and started again, I´ve
referred to the "grouping and sorting" Access material on the Microsoft
website, I tried on Access 2002 and Access 2003... I just can´t find how to
use the Grouping and Sorting feature anywhere!!

Please help... I desperately need to group on some reporting fields in some
of my reports.

Ops, when I say "group my reports" I of course mean "grouping some fields in
my reports"... thanks.

Note: In the future, when posting to these newsgroups, it would be in
your best interest to include your Access version number. It may make
a difference in the response. For example, what may work in Access
2007 may not work in previous versions, and vise versa.

It's Sorting and Grouping, not Grouping and Sorting.

In Access 2003 or older, in Report Design View click on View + Sorting
and Grouping.

I´m using Access 2002 at work, and Access 2003 at home. That´s why I
mentioned both versions. When I use Access 2003, go into Report Design View
and click on View menu there is no "Sorting and Grouping" (nor is there the
equivalent toolbar icon). No idea what to do to use this feature in my
reports.

In Access 2003 or older, in Report Design View click on View + Sorting
and Grouping.

I don't know why it's missing, but perhaps someone set up a customized
menu and removed it from the View Menu. Put it back.
In Report Design View, right-click on your menu bar. Select customize.
Click on the Command tab. Find the Form/Report Design category. Find
but do not click on the Sorting and Grouping command.

Then click on the View menu so that it drops down.
Find the Sorting and Grouping command in the Form/Report Design list.
Drag it onto the View Menu.
Save the change.
Note: You could also add a tool button so you don't have to go through
the View Menu by dragging the Sorting and Grouping command onto the
Report Design Tool Bar.

Try it.

That´s the one!! Who knows why someone wanted to remove it from the menu...?
But still... it´s back now, thanks.
