i can not play avi file in power point

Hi,

I few avi files to play in PP presentation. when i inserted through
"insert=> ..=> movie from file", a thumbnails corresponding to the movie
clips are appearing fine.
but they are not playing either through click or automatically.
they need the codec klcodec227f.exe (from K-Lite codec pack) and i have that
installed on my machine. they do run well outside Poerpoint.
Any suggestion please to fix the problem. i tried some options from previous
posts but no luck.
