I am running microsoft outlook 2003 on windows XP with SP2. Recently Outlook
stopped sending mail. I still receive mail. I am not aware of any changes
that were made to the system before Oulook stopped sending mail. Any
suggestions?

What sort of mail account(s) do you have? Are you getting any error
messages? If so, what are they?

As a second post tonight, I, too am having this problem and also have SP1 and
SP2 and receive an error number 0x800CCC78 requiring 530 authentication.
HELP, PLEASE. I have tried everything my ISP suggested and now turn to you
at their request. I have printed and read all the information on editing the
registry and am not comfortable with doing this. Is this the only way to
correct this problem and reinstall OE/6? Thank you.

I suspect that your authentication is not set up properly. You might want
to try posting to the Outlook Express newsgroup
(microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress) to get help in
trouble-shooting the problem - this group is for Outlook, which is part of
Microsoft Office.

Editting the registry or reinstalling OE are not likely to help. Post to
the OE group to get help.
