I can receive e-mail but not send

I am using Outlook 2000 and started having the same issue as everyone. I too
reset my mail account, updated from Microsoft and updates, reloaded the
program and when I send I get Error #0x80070057. I have tried resending and
it does not work. The message is in Italics in the outgoing box. I also,
peridocially, am told that the program needs to close and to send an error
report. Well, I can tell you whoever the error report goes to, they got
bombarded last week when this started happening. What else is there to do????

Have you recently upgraded to SP2 or installed another firewall? That will
stop outgoing emails. Allow outlook out or disable firewall during email
usage.

I would go with letting it out;)

I did not upgrade because I do not have XP and I changed to allow outlook out
but it is still telling me the same thing. This is ridiculous. Any idea why
all of a sudden this happened? Looking at other postings, it is happening to
many.

Can you open the Windows event viewer (Start -> All Programs ->
Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer) and look in the Application events
for Outlook errors? Right above some of those errors should be an
informational event for Outlook that contains a "fault bucket" number.
Could you post that?
