I cannot access anything but True Type fonts in Word.

I have many fonts in my Fonts folder in my control panel. I am only able to
see the True Type fonts on the drop down font selector on Word 2003. How can
I use these other fonts in Word?

Screen fonts won't work in Word 2003, so they don't show up in the Font
dropdown menu. If you don't have a Postscript-capable printer currently
selected, you might not see Postscript fonts in the dropdown menu either.
See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211916 for more details (the article
also applies to Word 2002 and 2003).

In addition to what g-n-o has said, make sure that you don't have "Show only
TrueType fonts in the programs on this computer" selected on the TrueType
Fonts tab of Tools | Folder Options in the Fonts folder.
