I cannot access the application data folder

I need to modify a template, but I cannot access the Application Data folder.
When I do a search for the folder, the computer can't find it. I only see it
when I go to file open and open the template that way, but then I can't save
the changes with the same name as the open template.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | File Locations, and note the
folder designated for User Templates. That is the folder where
your templates are stored. In newer versions of Office and
Windows, the files and folder are hidden, so you have to turn on
display of hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer or My
Computer by clicking on Tools | Folder Options | View tab | click
the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button | OK.

The Application Data folder is marked as hidden. To see it or anything
under it, start Windows Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options >
View. Click "Show hidden folders and files". That will make the
Application Data folder and its contents visible both in Explorer and
in the File > Open dialog in Office applications.
