I cannot email 2007 xls file to a friend. as it is blocked. Why?

My Office 2007 is working fine but I cannot send spreadsheets on my email as
they are blocked by the receivers server? i should be able to do this as I
did with the 2003 version. Even when the file is saved in 2003 format, it is
still blocked. What settings must I/he use to get it through?

If it's blocked by the RECIPIENT'S sever then there's nothing YOU can do -
it's up to the recipient.

It seems that something changed at his end, then, so you have no control over
it.

Sometimes you can change the file extension to .TXT then he can change it back
at the other end once he's received it and saved to his local drive.
