I cannot install Microsoft Office Standard 2007

When I try to install Microsoft Office Standard 2007 I get an Error message
that says, "The specified program requires a newer version of Windows".

I am running on XP. So what can I do?

I believe I am, but I don't know how to tell. I turned on my Automatic
Updates, and downloaded and installed all that were avalible.
