I cannot see my pictures in word, I do not have picture placehold.

When i insert my scanned picture, or text, it is not always visible? If I go
into preview, and enlarge it it also disappears, why?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control Panel
| Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting.
