I am running Windows XP with Office 2003, and using Outlook 2003. I had some
problems with my email folders when I migrated from one computer to another
(obviously incorrectly). Now I have a Personal Folders file that is not
accessible to Outlook all the time. I can see all my folders in it, and send
and receive mail, but when I try to hit the Advanced button after I click
Properties I get an error "The operation failed. An object could not be
found." (So I can't compact the file, which is 1.5 GB) Also, when I go to
Data File Management, this file is not on the list, although when I go to the
actual folder in Windows Explorer, it is obviously there. I think that
Outlook just has trouble "seeing" the file, but I have no way to fix it. I
have tried creating a backup (using the tool downloaded form Microsoft), and
now I can see the Advanced properties, ect for the NEW Personal Folders, but
it won't let me cloase the OLD personal folders - I get the same "The
operation failed. An object could not be found." error. Help!!!!
