I can't edit fields on a form

Hello to all,

I am having a problem. I can't edit a field on a form. Allow edits is
set to yes on the form. I goto a record say record 10. The fields populate
with the information on that record. I have the fields set to unlocked but it
will not allow me to change what is typed in the field.
