Hi, Ken. Microsoft Office does not come with Microsoft Windows XP. Office is a separate software suite that you have to purchase and install in addition to Windows. The current version of Office is Office 2003, and it is packaged several different ways to suit your computing needs and budget... see http://office.microsoft.com/home/default.aspx for information on "How to Buy" or to order a Trial Version of Office 2003. You might also consider purchasing an older version of Office (XP, 2000, or 97) if you don't need the latest whizbang features. Older versions are not available from Microsoft, but many online vendors still sell them, and the cost is usually much less than the current version.

In addition to Garfield's reply, is the Windows XP a FULL legal version viz
a pirate or trial version. If you have no RUN command, it suggests an
out-of-date version that have not been activated.

If you did clean install of Windows XP {reformat drive}, than you need to
reinstall your Office applications.

As, noted in another post, Office is not part of Windows.

The Run command is not a default displayed command in Windows XP. To display
the Run command right click on Start, select Properties. On the Start Menu
tab click on the customize button and select the Advance tab. In the section
on Start Menu Items scroll down and check the Run box.
