I can't get sizing handles on slideplaceholders in handout master

I want to amend the handout master, but when I try to change the size or
position of a slide placeholder nothing happens - the 'box' does not appear
to allow me to re-size or move it, even though 'Help' implies this should
hapen

You cannot esize these placeholders in PPT. You can select 1,2,3,4,6,or 9
slides per page. If you want more control either use "Send to Word" or third
party solutions (see here) http://skp.mvps.org/how/index.html
