I can't open files when double-click on it?

When I double-click on files (*.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, etc...) only application
is opened but not the file that I was click on it, then I have to go on File
Open... to open file I wont work on. I have Office 2003 Pro SP2 on XP Pro.

All of my files are located on local hard drive. It is very frustrating when
I have to open some files that come in attachment of e-mail, I have to save
them first and then to open application and then the file. Can you help me on
this please?

Try an Office repair if you haven't already, just run the setup from the
Control Panel/Add Remove programs, select MS Office, press the *change* (not
remove) button & that will begin the setup routine. Select the repair option.
Depending on how you've installed originally the routine may ask you for the
CD from which you installed, put that in the drive if it does.
