I can't open word for windows 6.0 doc after I upgraded to XP

i upraded my operating system from a windows 98 to a windows xp and now I
can't open documents in word for windows 6.0

open a Word 6.0 for Windows file? If you get an error message,
what does the message say EXACTLY?
